Josh Janssen has 30 years in the fire service, beginning his career in 1993, and has held the ranks of firefighter, firefighter paramedic, fire apparatus engineer, fire Apparatus engineer paramedic, fire captain, fire captain paramedic, battalion chief, training chief, safety chief, assistant chief, and deputy chief with a major municipal fire department. He has extensive experience in Fire Control, Serious Accident Review Team, safety, and state fire training programs. Janssen on serves on several cadres and committees, including a technical panel member with UL Firefighter Safety Research Institute/National Institute of Standards and Technology. He has also been a member of a Type I Incident Management Team since 2015 and is currently a deputy incident commander. He has two associate degrees, (fire science and EMS), and is currently working on his bachelor’s degree in fire administration. Janssen is a father of three children and a husband of 19 years.
