Chief Maurice Johnson’s professional career began in 1989, and advanced to Assistant Chief at the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District (Metro Fire). Throughout his 28 years with Metro Fire, Chief Johnson served in several command and executive level positions, including Air Operations Tactical Flight Officer, Battalion Chief, Director of Emergency Medical Services, Operations Shift Commander, Fire Marshal, Special Operations, and Governmental Affairs.
Chief Johnson has led the El Dorado Hills Fire Department for five years and serves on several local and State Boards, including The El Dorado County Emergency Services Authority, California Fire Chiefs (CALCHIEFS), and Firefighting Resources of California Organized for Potential Emergencies (FIRESCOPE).
